It’s Payback Time

Wednesday, October 31st, 2007

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Sara_Chambers]Sara Chambers You throw your cap into the air with the thrill of knowing that you have just completed a great challenge: College. As the cap falls from the sky and smacks you in the head, it hits you: You are $20,000 in debt! The nights of cramming for midterms, freshman hazing and caffeine comas have cost you, and now its time for payback. Where do you begin? First you need to relax and take a deep breath. The United States government does not expect a check from you for $20,000. The first thing to understand about a federal student loan is that you have some time before you have to start paying it back. It’s called a “grace period” and it is extended for six months. During these six months, it is expected that you will find a job and secure some type of financial stability. Your first payment is due within sixty days of the first day of your repayment period. The next thing that you need to understand is that you have repayment options. The Federal Student Aid website offers four specific repayment options. These include the Standard Repayment Plan, the Extended Repayment Plan, Graduated Repayment Plan, and the Income Contingent Repayment Plan. The Standard Repayment plan requires a fixed amount each month, which is often a higher amount as you have ten years to repay. The Extended Payment Plan takes longer to pay off your loans, which means you will pay more in interest, but your monthly payments will be smaller. The Graduated Repayment Plan is an excellent option, offering lower payments at first which increase over time as your income increases. Finally, there is the Income Contingent Repayment Plan, which allows you to adjust monthly payment based on family size, income and loan amount. If you have difficulty paying back your student loans, there are two ways to handle it: Deferment or forbearance. Each of them results in a pause or reduction of payment respectively. Successful repayment of your student loans requires a clear understanding of your options. Fueling the Fires of Passion

Tuesday, October 30th, 2007

By Alan Stafford What do you do when your marriage becomes routine? For many of us, the everyday routine of work, child care, and bill paying extends to our lovemaking with our spouses. But, no matter how long youve been married, there are plenty of ways to spice up your love life. Lets start in the bedroom the hub of hubba hubba! Gentlemen, start your engines Decorate your bedroom with pictures of yourself and your partner. Choose pictures that bring back happy memories of times you had as a couple. For instance, your wedding, a special date, or a vacation. Avoid hanging pictures of relatives: family pictures belong in the family room. Its a real turn-off to see your grandparents and in-laws scowling at you while youre naked and ready for romance. Speaking of mood: mood lighting can work wonders for a bland bedroom. Soft lighting helps to warm the atmosphere and it makes people look sexier too. You want to be able to see what youre doing, without blinding your partner or having to grope around clumsily in the dark. Install a dimmer switch for a bedside lamp. Some people like to buy black lights (UV light bulbs available at Lowe’s or Home Depot) because the bulbs create the appearance of a sexy tan on your bodies. Roses, orchids and other scented flowers can fill your room with romance. Scented candles-especially lavender and pumpkin-are a type of aromatherapy that many people find arousing. Lock you door! If you dont have a lock, get one. Its almost impossible to lose yourself in the moment if youre worried that you will be found out any minute by an intruding child. Ladies, start his engine Now that the bedroom is ready for action, its time to use it! Ladies, sometimes its best to take charge and turn him on for a change. Why should he have to instigate everything? Here are a few tips to get his motor running. Make the first move and continue to direct the action. Men get tired of having to call the plays all the time. Having a woman take charge will be something out of a fantasy for him. Arrange a night out, but keep your plans a secret. What could make your man feel more special than to have his loved one plan and pay for an intimate evening together? Another way to show your partner that he is desired is to play up the little things. Leave little love notes in his lunch box and on his pillow. His coworkers might give him some grief at first. But, every other man will be wishing his wife left notes for him. Demonstrate a bit more affection in public. No need to embarrass him or make him feel uncomfortable. But mini massages, kisses on the cheek and toying with his hair are ways to let him feel that he is desired. Let the world know youre in love. Let the world - and your man know that you just cant keep your hands off him. Thats a real ego boost for a man. Hell appreciate it and feel flattered. Dress up once in a while. Toss off the flannel and turn up the glamour. Strut your stuff and remind him how beautiful you really are. When you were dating, you dressed to impress and to attract. Dress tonight like you dressed when you were dating Every couple has their own ways of showing affection. Also, every couple needs to be comfortable with new ways of demonstrating romantic gestures. So, try some of these suggestions. See which ones work best for you-and for him. Doing the things you did when you wanted to get married might just be the things that help you stay married. Turn back the romance clock, and turn on the fun. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Dr. Alan Stafford, Relationship Results CoachI help Singles and Couples build relationships that workwww.relationshipsuccessexperts.com Click here to ask Alan a question about your biggest relationship issuehttp://relationshipsuccessexperts.com/askalan.htm Get our free newsletter for relationship tips and advicehttp://relationshipsuccessexperts.com/subscribe.html 2005 Alan Stafford/Relationship Success Experts ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Alan_Stafford http://EzineArticles.com/?Fueling-the-Fires-of-Passion&id=111683 guide carisoprodol online boards carisoprodol keyword online se soma online soma orders com carisoprodol onlinereltopnet purchase site

Plastic Sheets

Monday, October 29th, 2007

By Thomas Morva Plastic sheets have created a buzz in the industrial and consumer market. Their usage has expanded to places unimaginable. It is rare to find any house or office that is made without the help of plastic sheets. Plastic is a durable and sturdy material usually used for construction and interior designs, though the list of its uses may be exhaustive. Plastic sheets are used by many interior designers for the ease and convenience it offers while using. Plastic sheets are cheaper than the regular glass windows, cement sheets, and POP sheets; however, they provide similar levels of durability and strength. The trade of plastic sheets has seen a number of new players. These dealers offer their services of selling plastic sheets as well as fabricating them as per the requirements of customers. Plastic sheets are also known as acrylic sheets that may be commonly found in garages and porches, as most plastic sheets are 100 times stronger than glass. Another application of the polycarbonate plastic sheets is pitched roof glazing. Most industrial and commercial roof lights, school pavements, hospital passages, supermarket doorways, greenhouses and shed sunrooms make extensive use of plastic sheets. Designers prefer plastic sheets to traditional glass, as plastic sheets are scratch resistant, lightweight, easy to install and a cheap alternative. Plastic sheets are available commonly in any local hardware store or can be ordered off the Internet through the many agencies vending a variety of plastic sheets. Plastic sheets are available as acrylic sheets that may be bought Clear tinted or colored. The size and thickness of each lot can be custom ordered. Plastic sheets may also be in the form of impact modified acrylic sheets. These are made of varying degrees of modifications to achieve greater resistance. They are also available in clear, white, and other colors, usually in a roll stock. Plastic is causing a global problem, as it is not a biodegradable material. It is hence advisable to purchase plastic sheets from reputed stores and the ones made from recycled plastic. Plastic provides detailed information on Plastic, Plastic Bags, Plastic Containers, Plastic Pants and more. Plastic is affiliated with Custom Plastic Bags. Wedding Reception - 5 Things Your Decoration Ideas Should Take Care Of

Sunday, October 28th, 2007

By Albert Lee When thinking about wedding reception decoration ideas, most couples usually focus too much about choosing the right flowers and the centerpiece then forgetting about everything else. This is absolutely wrong. If you want a perfect wedding, you should know that although flowers and the centerpieces are indeed significant, there are other things that your wedding reception decoration ideas should focus on and solve to create a visually pleasing affair. 1. Candles This old-fashioned source of light is not only beautiful to look at but it can also create an exceptionally romantic atmosphere especially at night. Wedding reception decoration ideas concerning candles should consider factors like height, width, color, and aroma. If you’ve got extra money to spare, you should also consider buying candles that give off a special scent to make your wedding smell as beautiful as it looks. 2. Lighting Wedding reception decoration ideas should consider the lighting of the venue. If possible, use various kinds of lights to create the proper atmosphere. For cocktails or the entrance of bride and groom, it’s important to allow your guests to see everything and everyone in all its glory. Make sure that the lights can be dimmed, however, when it’s time for couples to dance. 3. Chair Decor Wedding reception decoration ideas must also focus not just making the seats for the guests comfortable but pretty to look at as well. High-backed chairs are for more formal occasions. Chairs with padded seats are more comfortable but they’re more expensive to rent and heavier to move around. Make sure that you use chairs which can accommodate all sizes if you don’t want to cause discomfort to any of your guests. 4. Statues and Sculptures Your wedding would be boring to look at if there’s nothing to please the roaming eyes of your guests. Wedding reception decoration ideas should also focus on placing strategically located decorations in the venue to give people something to look at AND serve as an excellent backdrop for picture-taking. 5. Napkins and Cutlery Even the cutlery and napkin you’ll use for the wedding should be taken care of. Wedding reception decoration ideas regarding this matter should focus on the color and style of your dining ware but be sure to use only what you can afford to buy…or rent. Aromatherapy - Ancient Holistic Healing

Saturday, October 27th, 2007

By Jennifer Bones Aromatherapy is the practice of using the scents of various plant extracts to assist in healing the mind, body, and soul. The use of aromatherapy dates back over 5,000 years and has recently been rediscovered as a method of holistic healing. The most famous Egyptian technique using aromatherapy was embalming. However evidence exists to show that aromatherapy was also used in cosmetic and medicinal applications. During the same time, records from China indicate that hundreds of plants were identified to exude healing aromatic properties. Ayurvedic medicine, which spans the history of India, has always incorporated aromatherapy into its healing methods and spiritual practices. The ancient Greeks were quick to adopt aromatherapy from Egypt and began using olive oil as a base. Romans learned these methods from Greece and were soon using scented oils in their famous baths. Although Native Americans and other native cultures around the world continued to utilize the effects of plant extracts, after the fall of the Roman Empire the recorded information on aromatherapy was lost and Western Civilization would have to re-learn everything. (Not one of the most efficient cultures, eh?) It took the scourge of the plague during the Middle Ages to begin to rekindle an interest in this ancient technique. It was discovered then that certain plant extracts seemed to prevent the spread of infection and assist in decontaminating a house after its occupants had been afflicted.A Persian philosopher, Avicenna (980 AD 1037AD), is responsible for the reintroduction of aromatherapy. Once a method of distillation was discovered by the Arabs, it didnt take long for the unfortunate Crusades to bring these methods back to Europe. Very slow to catch on, it took until the 19th century before Europe and Great Britain spent any meaningful time studying the effectiveness of aromatherapy on humans. (I imagine we were finding other uses for the Arabic distillation process.) Finally, after a French chemist, Rene Maurice Gattefosse, burned his hand and healed it with some lavender oil he wrote a book on the antimicrobial properties of certain essential oils. Thus, aromatherapy as we know it today was bornagain. If it werent for Dr. Gattefosse and his burnt hand, we may not have such an overwhelming olfactory experience as we walk through a shopping mall. Most of the perfumes, candles, lotions, bath salts, etc. that we use today are centered on the fundamentals of aromatherapy. After all, we dont really want to smell some of those ingredients listed on our favorite body lotion do we? However if we take this a step forward and learn how to best utilize the immense power of plant extracts we very well might spend less time at the doctors office and more time, wellshopping for bubble bath! The sense of smell is a very powerful one. The average human can distinguish over 10,000 distinct odors and people who lose their sense of smell often suffer from depression and anxiety. It is believed that smell is processed in the limbic system, the part of the brain that controls moods, memory, emotion, and learning. When a persons brain waves are monitored, it has been discovered that smelling lavender increases alpha waves in the back of the brain which are associated with relaxation while jasmine stimulates beta waves in the front of the brain and are linked to stimulation and alertness. Further studies have allowed scientists to break down these scents in the following functional groups: Monoterpenes: anti-viral, antiseptic, bactericidal, and can be highly irritating to the skin. Examples: lemon, pine, frankincense Esters: fungicidal, sedating, and very aromatically pleasing. Examples: bergamot, Clary sage, lavender Aldehydes: sedating and antiseptic. Examples: melissa, lemongrass, cirtronella Ketones: ease congestion, aid flow of mucus, can be toxic. Examples: fennel, hyssop, sage Alcohols: very antiseptic, anti-viral with uplifting qualities. Examples: rosewood, geranium, rose Phenols: bactericidal and strongly stimulating, can be highly irritating to the skin. Examples: clove, thyme, oregano Oxides: expectorant and bactericidal. Examples: rosemary, tea tree Essential oils are quite different from fatty oils (e.g. almond oil or sesame oil). Essential oils are volatile and will evaporate quite quickly when exposed to air. Essential oils are soluble in fatty oils allowing the fatty oils to act as a carrier or base for the essential oils. This is very useful when using an essential oil topically which may be irritating at full strength. Dissolving into a fatty oil dilutes the irritant while allowing the healing properties to be easily absorbed into the skin. A safer and more gentle alternative to rare essential oils are hydrosols. These hydrosols are a by-product of the distillation process and contain the same therapeutic properties of the essential oils but in much smaller amounts. Hydrosols are also much less expensive and can easily be used in a mister or spritzers. Please remember the following safety precautions: -Never ingest essential oils -Never allow essential oils to come in contact with the eyes -Take care when using candle-lit diffusers -Some essential oils are irritants or present other hazards. Research the use of any essential oil prior to implementation Heres a list of uses for essential oils: Bath: fill the tub with bath water. Add 9-10 drops of essential oil into the bath water, mix before getting into bath. Or add 9-10 drops of essential oil to one teaspoon of carrier oil, such as jojoba oil and add & mix into the bath water so the essential oil is soluble in the carrier oil before adding to the bath. Liquid Soap: add about 30-45 drops of essential oil to 8 ounces of unscented liquid hand soap or unscented liquid shower body wash. Shake vigorously. Body Oil: add about 12-15 drops of essential oil to one ounce of carrier oil, such as jojoba oil and shake to blend. Body Lotion: add 50-60 drops of essential oil to 16 ounces of unscented body lotion. Stir with a spoon or stirring stick to blend the essential oil into the lotion until smooth. Body Mist: add 10-15 drops of essential oil to a 1 ounce glass misting bottle filled with spring or distilled water. Shake well and shake before each mist. Liniment: add 25-20 drops of essential oil to one ounce of carrier oil, such as jojoba oil. Shake well to blend. Compress: add & mix 3-5 drops of essential oil to a bowl of warm or cool water. Soak a wash cloth, wring and apply. Shampoo/Conditioner: add 12-15 drops of essential oil to one ounce of unscented or mild shampoo and conditioner. Shake well to blend. Hair Brush: place three drops of essential oil into the palm of your hand; rub over the natural bristles of a hair brush. Brush your scalp and your hair. Diffuser: add essential oils to an electric diffuser, candle burner or a lamp ring. Room Mist: add 17-20 drops of essential oil to a 1 ounce glass misting bottle filled with spring or distilled water. Shake well and shake before each mist. Scent: add five drops of an essential oil to a hanky or tissue and carry with you throughout the day. Or place under your pillow case to ease you into sleep. Scent: add five drops to a cotton ball and place in drawers and linen closets. Place: a drop of essential oil in the palm of your hand, rub your hands together and inhale. Wi-Fi Roaming and Cell Phone Roaming Options

Thursday, October 25th, 2007

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Rene_Tse]Rene Tse The Canadian company, Seaboard Group crystal ball is glowing with Wi-Fi predictions. In a recent commentary on this issue, Canadians Cut Their Wires on the Wi-Fi phenomenon, Seaboard Group predicted that by 2007, Wi-Fi hardware equipment and integration services will exceed 800 million with shipments of 1.7 million base stations and 3.2 million access cards. This prediction is quite impressive. However, these figures do not take into account the computers that have built in Wi-Fi capability, which a new generation consumers will be buying. What are some of the drawbacks to this huge growth spurt? Lack of high security. The Wi-Fi network may not be secure at your local cyber caf. Public gateways or providers of free Wi-Fi surfing may not invest in leading edge Wi-Fi hardware or routers. Wi-Fi hotspots offered to the public are not 100 percent reliable. What are some of benefits to this blossoming Wi-Fi phenomenon? FREE: Everyone loves the fact that they can bring their PDA, smartphone, laptop or Palm device to a Wi-Fi hotspot and not have to pay for Internet connection time. The convenience factor: There are over 1000 access points or Wi-Fi hotspots installed by Rogers and Telus mobility in Canada. FREE roaming: Normally if you are out of your cell phone roaming area or your home area, and you make a call or connect online the wireless providers will charge you a per minute usage fee. However, if you want to avoid paying expensive overage cell phone roaming fees, you can email instead of calling or text messaging using one of the public gateway access points. The benefits to this Wi-Fi phenomenon clearly outweigh the drawbacks. If you are a US cellular subscriber and have signed up for wireless Broadband Access with Verizon wireless, you are locked into Verizons network. This means you can not use the public Wi-Fi hotspots with your smartphone or PDA. Wi Fi Roaming vs. Cell Phone Roaming If you want to call some one, or receive calls on your cellular phone and you happen to be outside your home calling area, some carriers will charge you a per minute overage access fee. These out of area charges apply even if you have a one or two year cell phone contract. More and more people are taking advantage of the benefits associated with Wi-Fi roaming. If for example, you subscribe to your own Wi-FI provider, Wi-Fi roaming means you can use your username and password to access a different Wi-Fi service on another network without the hassle of signing up for the second Wi-Fi service. Under this scenario at months end, the service bill will show Wi-Fi roaming charges incurred from use of an additional Wi-Fi provider. This is a huge advantage, if you dont want to sign up with 20 different Wi-Fi providers every time you go to a different access point. Use the same username and password to access the partner Wi-Fi network. Who are some of the Wi-Fi providers that have roaming agreements? Sprint expanded their network by having roaming agreements with Airpath Wireless, AT&T Wireless, SBC, STSN, Wayport. Boingo Wireless also expanded their network by having roaming agreements with NetNearU, STSN, Surf and Sip, and Wayport. Here are some free Wi-FI hotzone parks: New York, NY - Bryant Park located between 5th and 6th Avenue and 40th and 42nd Street. Philadelphia, PA - Love Park located at JFK Plaza opposite City Hall Milwaukee, WI - Pier Marquette Park located off west Kilbourn Avenue between Milwaukee River and old Third Street Boston, MA - Norman B. Leventhal Park located in downtown in the financial district, bordered by Congress, Franklin, Pearl and Milk streets Los Gatos, CA - Los Gatos Opera house located on S. Santa Cruz Avenue and East Main Street Austin, TX - Republic Square TX located just off West Fourth Street Here are some free Wi-Fi hotspot finders: PC Hotspot finder - http://pcworld.jiwire.com/ Laptop Hotspot finder - http://laptopmag.jiwire.com/, please click on Wi-Fi finder when you land on the home page Free Hotspot Finder - http://www.wififreespot.com/ Spotting a hotspot is easy, simply click on one of the 3 databases above to find a free wi-fi public gateway access point near your area. Fatport, a Vancouver based wi-fi provider uses roaming agreements with other Wi-Fi providers to allow Fatport subscribers access to over 4000 hotspots in North America. I recently found out that I could buy a 24 hour pass to access a Fatport wi-fi hotspot for only $9.95 and only $299.95 for the entire year. Top 5 Reasons to Avoid Car Loans

Thursday, October 25th, 2007

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Andy_M]Andy M In the olden days, owning a car was considered as a part of luxury. But the modern circumstances have gone far from that stage. Today, car has become an inevitable part of a lifestyle and most families now have 2 or more cars. The car can be a necessity in the modern condition but the cost for it is not affordable for everyone. Majority of the car loan companies have come up with easy installment car loans as a possible method to arrange the money for car purchase. However, the car loans are not appreciated to be beneficial at all times. The primary reason behind the discontent of the experts about car loans is the risk involved in it. Car loans are available in secured and unsecured options. However in most cases car loans are provided on the collateral security of the car itself. In most cases the collateral value will retains its value more or less during the whole loan repayment period. But, in case of car loans the collateral value will be depreciating at higher rates and it wont be viable to support the loan during the whole loan process. The car loan lenders are forced to compensate their risk by including stringent conditions. This will reflect a practical difficulty, ultimately on the borrowers. And, in effect the car loans will not be advantageous. Now many options are available for car financing. In most cases the dealers of the car itself will offer the financing of the car loan. Many banks and other private banks are also present in the market. Even then, the rates of car loan are higher than any other secured loans. In several cases unsecured loans are available as car loans. In the case of unsecured loans, the interest rates will be higher than any such loans. If the person has credit liability, the burden of the interest rates will increase in the car loans. The repayment term of the car loan will also be a problem, as it will be short due to the risk involved in the loan. As the value of car decreases with the time, the lenders will be interested to limit the repayment schedule to as minimum as possible. The high interest and limited repayment track will in effect increases the monthly repayment amount. In the present scenario, we are forced to change the car, according to the latest trends in the car market. The modern motor vehicle industry has come up with many attractive models that will gain the attention of people. The selling or exchanging of the car will become a problem, if you have a big balance in the car loan repayment. You will not be able to find appropriate deals as most of the people will not feel good to take up the loan associated with it. Car loan refinancing is a popular option to reduce the hassles involved in car loans. But the efficacy of the car loan refinancing is also a question. Any faults in the repayment will also affect your credit score. In brief, car loans are potential dangers, which can imbalance your financial stability. It will be better to arrange the finance from any other source. And if car loan is inevitable, analyze the terms of the car loans carefully, before stepping in. Sarbanes Oxley Act: Compliance and Risk Based Approach

Tuesday, October 23rd, 2007

By Alexander Gordon Under the section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) Act, a public company has to file an internal report about the financial reporting procedures it follows, the effectiveness of its design and operation, and the trustworthiness of its financial dealings. The Impact of Sarbanes Oxley on Public Companies:The internal report to be submitted under the SOX guidelines need to be detailed, and give a description of the financial dealings and state of the company. The company needs to implement cost effective solutions, reduce wasteful expenditure and use effective measures to cut down on costs. This is the only way to make a favorable impression once the internal report is out. Sarbanes Oxley Compliance Act Risk Based ApproachAccording to financial gurus, the Sarbanes Oxley Act should be considered an opportunity for streamlining financial applications, and reducing costs for compliance. It is an opportunity for upgrading financial systems, and putting in modern infrastructure. Here are some risk-based approaches: 1) Good Management:If the senior management is convinced about the advantages of controls, the employees and junior level managers also come round to the idea. While the money and time spent on compliance may reduce after a period, the commitment of the management should never diminish. In order to ensure compliance, incentives like promotions, raise, shares etc. are a good option. Those employees with good compliance records should be rewarded for the effort they put in. 2) Reviewing Controls:Test to see if the controls work, as they are intended to. Your approach should be well planned. This will help reduce the number of controls you need to test by weeding out the ones that do not work. The risk-based approach is applied to controls for financial statements. You can also consider more than one type of control, or a blend of all, like manual/automated, higher/lower etc. 3) Improving the Testing Procedure:Once the controls best for particular applications are singled out, it will be necessary to test them for compliance. Since testing can be expensive, most companies stagger the procedure over a period of two years. In the second year, more risk-based approaches are employed, and even external auditors called in, if needed. Internal testing procedures must be streamlined, and testing plans are standardized. Compliance with the Sarbanes Oxley Act makes it mandatory that organizations make testing procedures and the risk based approach part of their daily business applications. The Act should be seen as an opportunity for streamlining controls, reduce complexity, improve communication within the organization, and reduce the risk of dishonest financial statements. There are a number of consultants available who can help you and your company to prepare for Sarbanes Oxley Act. You can locate them all over the net by doing the correct search. Are You Ready to be Fired!

Saturday, October 20th, 2007

By Roger Sorensen Your boss has just informed you that your department is being reduced by two and you are fired. After he leaves, what are you going to do?This is not about finding a job its about being prepared for financial change. How you prepare for employment change is different for everyone. Being prepared for financial change is the same person to person. 1. Build an Emergency Savings Account Everyone should have a passbook savings account with money to use in Emergencies. This money is to never be touched except when your car needs repairs you can not afford, your basement floods and you need to pay to clean it up, or your Great-Grandma Ruth is dying and you need to go to her bedside. Use your Emergency money, and immediately start rebuilding it by paying yourself. A good amount to have in this account will equal six months of your net income (after taxes). This will provide you with a cushion for when you receive the pink slip. If you have a little time to search, you will be able to find enjoyable, quality employment. 2. Prepare a Spending Plan You already know you should be living on a spending plan now. Have you thought about how you would live after a job loss? Take time today to create a Job Loss Plan so you will have an idea what spending you will reduce as soon as you know you our out of work. Then as soon as you are told those two little words (Youre Fired) you can pull out the plan and start conserving your money. Do not deny what happened and continue trying to live like you did before. 3. Carry No-Debt This is good advice for everyone, but as it pertains to this article no-debt is really wise. If you are out of a job, you do not want to be paying $500 a month in non-mortgage bills. By keeping your credit card and even your mortgage debts to a minimum, read zero, you will be able to stretch your Emergency Savings Account money further. Even if you have a good job that you will never loose, if you are not carrying debt, you will be able to put more money into your retirement, childrens college or vacation fund. 4. Know Your Creditors If you do carry debt, be sure you know who your creditors are. This sounds silly, but a lot of people receive a bill from XYF Credit Co and pay the minimum without looking to see who XYF is. You should know your creditors and how to contact them, so that if you are laid off you can call them right away and let them know. What is the Strait Gate?

Friday, October 19th, 2007

By Keith Brown Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat. Because strait is the gate and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. Matthew 7:13-14 No doubt you have heard, as I have, many sermons preached on this text. Most take the same view that those that enter in by the strait gate get saved and those who enter by the wide gate get lost. But is it really that simple? As I was washing up the dishes after breakfast this morning, God spoke to me on this very text. I want to share now that which I believe God gave me. The vast majority of people in the world today DO NOT ENTER BY ANY GATE AT ALL. They are simply not interested. Some do not believe in God and others, though believing in God have no desire to do anything about it. They do not attempt to enter in, period! In the verses quoted above, Jesus is not talking about this group of people. He is only referring to people who actually enter through one of the two gates mentioned. He is talking about people who have a desire for a religion that leads to eternal life and speaks of some finding it but most, although believing they have found it, actually end up lost! In Revelation Chapter 3 15-16, Jesus gives a message to John, intended primarily for the Church at Laodicea and also prophetically to the Church of the last days before the Rapture. I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spew thee out of my mouth. He speaks of three types of people, those who are HOT, those who are COLD and those who are LUKEWARM. Those who are HOT are easily recognized as those who enter in by the strait gate. Those who are COLD can be seen as those who have no desire to enter any gate at all. But it is those who are LUKEWARM that appear as detestable to God. It is those who desire to enter the gate but go through the wrong gate, the wide gate. They are content with a form of religion that does not lead to life. Notice that Jesus does not appear to have a problem with those who are COLD. He would rather someone be COLD than LUKEWARM! Because the cold person, although as yet not having any desire for any religion, Christian or otherwise, they can still be reached with the truth. But the lukewarm, those trying to enter in but by the wrong gate, are usually so stubbornly sure that they are right, that they become unreachable with the truth. They settle for error. They settle for a wrong gospel and another Jesus! (See 2 Cor. 11:4) They have the form of Godliness but deny its power 2 Tim. 3:3 Going back again to our original text from Matthew 7, I want you to notice that Jesus said there will only be a few that find the true way that leads to life. Does this surprise you? This is a very different view from that which we hear from most preachers these days. We constantly hear revival being preached. We are constantly being told of mighty moves of the Holy Spirit that are sweeping millions into the Kingdom of God But if we are totally honest, we see that Jesus told a very different story. Matthew 7 13-14 speaks of great deception. It speaks of people trying to find the real truth, but ending up accepting a way that is far from the truth that leads to life. The word strait as used in KJV means narrow, from obstacles standing close about. Its not that God has deliberately placed obstacles in the way to prevent people entering in, but that people have made obstacles of the truth. Jesus said, No man comes to the Father, but by me. John 14:6 Many make this an obstacle. They would rather ignore what Jesus said and climb up some other way John 10:1 They would rather seek Gods approval by good works, by going to Church or by their giving or a host of other ways. In the end, all these things become obstacles to them entering in and finding life. Jesus said, I am the door, if anyone enters by me, he will be saved. Jesus is the only Way, He is the only Truth and He is the only LIFE! So many in the Church today are not entering in by Jesus. Many are following the big name preachers of this day. They hang on to every word that Mr. False Teacher says. But because Mr. False Teacher is approved by so many, is so well known and respected by the majority, they take his words as truth, without testing them, and follow him. They are deceived. They are lukewarm. They are detestable to God! I believe that what we are seeing in the Church today is that which was prophesied for the end times in 2 Thessalonians 2:3. That day will not come unless the falling away comes first. The falling away means apostasy in Greek. The vast majorities in the Church today are in an apostate condition. They have settled for less than the truth. All unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 2 Thess. 2:10 I challenge you who are reading this, do not settle for that which is being served up as truth by most preachers and ministers in Churches today. Test all things; hold fast to what is good. 1 Thess. 5:21. Test all that you hear by the infallible Word of God. Not all that sounds Christian is actually truth. Be among the few who enter in by the strait gate and find LIFE! Remember that Jesus said, Fear not, little flock. Luke 12:32 He called the true Church a little flock, not a massive big one!
